POLICY OVERVIEW & FRAMEWORK
The Board of Trustees is accountable for achieving the best possible outcomes for all students attending Linwood Intermediate School.
The Board is expected to govern, not manage. It develops and works from policies, not procedures. The difference is set out below:

- Set the direction the Board expects the school to go in
- Reflect sound governance
- Provide guidance for the Board’s decision making
- Are a reference point for internal and external review
- Are formally adopted by the Board and recorded in its Minutes
- Are reviewed every 3 years at a minimum

Are management systems to support and implement the School’s policies
Are communicated to all staff and training is provided as necessary
Are reported on to the Board as appropriate, to inform it how much progress is being made in implementing its policies
